This guide helps you prepare a stronger, more complete application. It does not guarantee approval. Visa decisions are made solely by the embassy or consulate, and an application can still be refused even if it is complete and well-prepared.
Explain the real purpose of the visit
State why you are travelling, how long you plan to stay and where you will stay. Tourism, family visits and business travel call for different supporting records.
Show how the trip will be funded
Use recent bank statements and income evidence that show the source of the money. If another person pays, explain the relationship and include their funding evidence and written support.
Document your ties to South Africa
Employment, studies, dependants, property, ongoing commitments and a realistic return plan can help the decision-maker understand your circumstances at home.
Reconstruct travel and immigration history
Give complete dates and outcomes for previous travel, visas, refusals, breaches or penalties. Do not hide a decision or fill a gap with a guess.
Keep the record consistent
Names, dates, income, trip cost, accommodation and dependant information should agree across your answers and supporting documents.
